Back in 1999 Levis launched the Engineered Jeans line which was seen as progressive and revolutionary. The concept behind was to give a more practical and less heavy jeans or jacket to everyone, this was due to the fact that middle-aged Levi's wearers were turning younger consumers off the brand. The twisted fit was like nothing seen before, and along side the engineered denim jacket was presented. Differently from others Levi's jackets the new model had the classic twisted hem design on chest's pocket and could have been fastened with popper buttons. The new line was favoured by everyone from Britpop lovers to R&B fans. The patch pocket design was inspired from the 1920's engineer sack coat, which was used by American scaffolder and people working at factories.
